The Tank
The tank is a 300g (96” x 30”x 24”) reef ready build by LeeMar. It has been up and running for 2.5 years. I was upgraded from a 135g tank that housed soft corals. The stand and canopy are a custom build set up that was built by a cabinet maker. Its solid Oak and Oak plywood stained with a cherry color stain. It also has a 100g frag tank which is connected with the main display. The frag tank is used from growing and propagating acanthastrea and micromusas as well as sps.

Filtration
Water parameters are maintain using a MRC-4 dual beckett injectors on a iwaki 70. Bio filtration is accomplished by about 500lb of LR and a 3” short sand bed. A 200g sump is also used for filtration with about 100lb of LR which is also where I have mixed micro algae from caulerpa to cheatomorphia which help with nutrient export.


Circulation
Water is returned to the display tank with a Sweetwater external pump running at 3500gph running to the frag tank and 3 returns on 3 1” sea swirls. For extra flow I use a Tunze 6080 and a Seios 820.

Lighting
Light is accomplished by using4x 400w 20k mh under Luminarcs III reflectors and one 250de 14k mh. The two ends bulbs are 20k XM and theothers are 20k Radium’s. The Xm’s are driven by a Bluewave7 dual ballast, the Radium’s are powered using a dual PFO HQI ballast. The 250w is a 14k Phoenix on a Bluewave HQI ballast. Also there are 4 T5 HO Super blue+ used for supplemental lighting.

Other Equipment
In order to maintain stable parameters I use a 1/2hp Aqua logic chiller plumbed to a little giant pump. The chiller is plumbed to the main display tank where an Aqua logic temperature controller controls the chiller. Heating is provided with 2 300w heaters. Calcium is maintain using a Ca reactor from MRC CR-6 dual chamber reactor connected to a Pinpoint Ph controller. Alk is maintain with a MRC Neilson reactor that is hocked up to a Reef Sentury Dosing pump that is used as my water top of. A 40w UV is also connected to the system.
